Chitlang is an ancient Newar village that dates back to the Lichchavi era, where people known as Gopalis are the ancestors of monarchs from the Gopal era. Amshubarma, according to the inscription, gave the land to shepherds and founded a community for them in Chitlang's Toukhel, Nhulgaun, Kunchhal, and other places. The traditional Newari houses, art, architecture, stupa, and chaitya, as well as the village itself, are among of Chitlang's main attractions, and most visitors come to stay at Chitlang Organic Village Resort. On the route to Chitlang, we pass by the Goat Cheese Factory, one of Nepal's original goat cheese producers.
Kulekhani dam, also known as Indra Sarovar, is located around 40 kilometers from Kathmandu and provides urban people with a break from the capital's hustle and dust. The Makwanpur Dam, with its clear, emerald waters and little hills surrounding it, is an ideal location for camping. It is a man-made dam in southern Nepal's Narayani Region that holds 85,300,000 m3 (69,200 acres) of water. The dam was created to generate energy, but it has also provided natural beauty and a unique setting that has attracted many visitors from the country throughout the year. The panoramic view of the Dam site is breathtaking, and the very first sight of the Kulekhani Lake steals our hearts. For the people of Kathmandu and Hetauda, Kulekhani Lake/Dam is an alternative or a second fewa taal.

Itinerary
We will start our tour early in the morning after breakfast. Our escort tour agent will take you to Chandragiri hills from where your hike to Chitlang starts. The hike will be of 3 to 4 hours from Chandragiri to Chitlang. The trial is moderate and can be done by any age group. After walking for hours you will reach Chitlang where we will stop to have our lunch. After a good meal and rest, we will then continue our hike to Kulekhani which will be the final destination for the camping. From Chitlang it takes around 1 to 2 hours to reach Kulekhani and on our way to the dam, we will visit the goat cheese factory of Chitlang. After reaching Kulekhani we will set our tent on top of the hill from where we can enjoy the panoramic view of the Kulekhani dam and camping at night.
Early in the morning, we will wake up with the beautiful sunrise and the stunning dam, then we will go exploring around the Kulekhani and do activities like boating. And eventually, return to Kathmandu.

Your trip of Chitlang-Kulekhani camping will be of 1 night 2 days, but if you are willing to stay longer in Nepal, then the trip can be customized according to your will.
The hike is moderate and can be done by any age group of people.
Any time of the year is faourable except rainy season since it will be hard to camp on tent during the rainy season. The most suitable time to for the Chitlang-Kulekhani camping is during Spring and Autumn season for the better view and experience.
